A constable posted at Etmaddaula police station in Agra brutally beat the driver who was sleeping while parking a truck. It is alleged that when the door of the cabin was not opened, the glass was broken by hitting a brick. The driver was beaten with sticks. His hands and legs were injured. Thinking the victim driver was a scoundrel, he reached the police station to lodge a complaint. CCTV footage revealed the accused to be a policeman. A report was given on this. DCP City has suspended constable Harsh Raghav.
Indrajit, a resident of Meerut, had brought boxes of liquor from the Excise Department from Mansoorpur. After unloading the goods at the warehouse in Transport Nagar, the truck was brought to the petrol pump at Narayach on Saturday night. He was sleeping in a cabin parked on the shore of a truck. He had to take the goods in the truck on Sunday morning. It is alleged that constable Harsh Raghav arrived without uniform at 2 o’clock on Saturday night. There were some other people with him. DCP City Suraj Rai said that CCTV footage of the pump was seen. It was revealed that the beating was done by a police constable. The station in-charge had given the report. It has been suspended. Departmental inquiry is also being conducted. On the other hand, the constable told the inspector in charge that the truck was standing in front of the ATM. He felt that the truck had been parked somewhere for some crime.
